DT Swiss Launch Brand New Range of 240 EXP Hubs

The new DT Swiss 240 hub with Ratchet EXP: lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain. Available across most cycling disciplines, from Road Racing to Downhill.

A year after launching their top end 180 EXP hubs it was only a matter of time for DT Swiss to introduce the trickle down technology to revamp the stalwart of their hub range, the 240. 

Swiss precision engineering, machining and assembly together with clever detail solutions have made the 240 what it is today: A legend. The strengths of the new 240 hub are further enhanced with the new RATCHET EXP technology. The ultra-reliable freehub system transfers the highest pedalling loads resulting in direct power transmission. Just what athletes want: Perfect transmission of their power and the reliability allowing them to focus on the ride.

With a 36 tooth ratchet freehub mechanism as standard, upgradable to 54 teeth, this gives 10 and 6.7 degrees of engagement respectively. The beauty of the EXP system is its simplicity. The previous 18 tooth Star Ratchet mechanism was a very simple and reliable design, but EXP takes this to an entire new level. Fewer components and moving parts, less weight, stiffer axle, faster engagement and reduced bearing stress resulting in longer lifespan; simply brilliant!
